Palo Alto, California

Palo Alto is a charter city in Santa Clara County, California, situated in the heart of Silicon Valley. Incorporated in 1894 by Leland and Jane Stanford to support Stanford University, the city takes its name from a tall redwood tree that marked the original settlement. It hosts the headquarters of numerous tech firms, including HP and VMware, and is home to Stanford University.
