Summary
Paraná is the capital city of the Argentine province of Entre Ríos, situated on the eastern bank of the Paraná River. Founded in 1730 by settlers from Santa Fe fleeing indigenous attacks, it quickly grew into a fortified settlement. It served as the capital of the Argentine Confederation between 1854 and 1861.
