Summary
Pärnu is a city in southwest Estonia, situated 128 km south of Tallinn. Historically, it was founded as Old Pärnu in 1251 by the bishop of Ösel-Wiek, later destroyed. The city was a member of the Hanseatic League and an important harbor.
