Paterson, New Jersey

Paterson is the largest city and county seat of Passaic County, New Jersey, United States. Historically dubbed 'Silk City' for its 19th‑century silk‑manufacturing dominance, it later became a hub for diverse immigrant communities, including a large Muslim population. The city was founded in 1791 by Alexander Hamilton’s Society for Establishing Useful Manufactures to harness the Great Falls of the Passaic River.
