Summary

Patiala is a city in southeastern Punjab, northwestern India, and the administrative capital of Patiala district. Founded in 1763 by the Jat Sikh chieftain Ala Singh, it grew around the Qila Mubarak fortress. The city is famed for its Patiala shahi turban, salwar and the Patiala peg measure of liquor.
