Pavlodar

Pavlodar is a city in northeastern Kazakhstan and the capital of Pavlodar Region, situated on the Irtysh River. Founded in the 9th century as the Kimek‑Kipchak settlements Khakan‑Kimak and Imakia, it became a Russian outpost in 1720. The city grew into a major industrial centre during the Soviet era, especially for arms production.
