Summary
Pedrógão Grande is a municipality in the historical Beira Litoral province, within the Central Region and Leiria district of Portugal. It received its town charter in 1206 from Afonso Pedro, son of Afonso II, though the current municipality was established in 1898. The town is situated in a region of granite and shale, near the Zêzere and Unhais rivers and their reservoirs.
