Penzberg is a city in the Weilheim-Schongau district of Bavaria, Germany, approximately 50 km south of Munich. Historically a coal mining town first mentioned in 1275, it later became known for its pharmaceutical industries. A tragic event during WWII, the 'Night of Penzberg Murder', saw the execution of local resistance fighters by Nazi forces.
