Poltava

Poltava is a city situated on the Vorskla River in Central Ukraine, serving as an administrative center. First mentioned in chronicles from the 12th century as Ltava, it became a key location during the Cossack Hetmanate. The city was a site of a pivotal 1709 battle during the Great Northern War.
