Popayán

Popayán is the capital of the Colombian department of Cauca, situated in the Pubenza Valley. Known as the "white city" for its colonial architecture, it boasts numerous historic churches like the Catedral Basílica Nuestra Señora de la Asunción. The city has a rich cultural heritage, having hosted seventeen Colombian presidents and being home to the University of Cauca.
