Port Orange, Florida

Port Orange is a city located in Volusia County, Florida, and is part of the Deltona–Daytona Beach–Ormond Beach metropolitan area. Founded after the Civil War by John Milton Hawks, it initially attracted freed African Americans to work in his sawmill. The city's history includes an early integrated school established by Esther Hawks.
