Portela (Loures)

Portela was a civil parish in the municipality of Loures, Lisbon District, Portugal, until 2013. Its name originates from the Latin 'portulla', meaning 'small door' or 'entryway', referencing its position as an access point to Lisbon. The urban plan of Portela was heavily influenced by Le Corbusier's modernist architectural principles.
