Summary

Provo is a city in Utah County, Utah, situated along the Wasatch Front south of Salt Lake City. Originally known as Timpanogas by the Ute people, it was explored by Silvestre Vélez de Escalante in 1776. The city became a settlement for Mormon pioneers in 1847 and is now home to Brigham Young University.
