Summary
Putnok is a town in Northern Hungary, located in Borsod-Abaúj-Zemplén county, 40 km from Miskolc. Historically, the area was part of the Gömör estate, granted to the Rátold family in 1283. The town regained its status in 1989 after a period of decline following territorial changes after WWI.
