Summary

Putyla is a rural settlement in Chernivtsi Oblast, western Ukraine, first mentioned in 1501. It was historically part of the Polish Crown and later under Austrian rule, experiencing local uprisings over taxation and forest access. Until 2020, Putyla served as the administrative center of Putyla Raion, which was then merged into Vyzhnytsia Raion.
