Summary

Ragonvalia is a Colombian municipality in the department of North Santander, founded in 1860 by migrants fleeing the 1860-1862 civil war. Originally named Planadas and Concordia, it was renamed in 1930 to honor former Colombian president Patricio Ramón González Valencia. The town's economy historically benefited from coffee smuggling between Colombia and Venezuela.
