Resistencia, Chaco

Resistencia is the capital city of Chaco Province in northeastern Argentina, situated along the Negro River. Founded in 1878, it grew from a settlement initially inhabited by Guaycuru aboriginals. The city's early development was significantly influenced by Italian immigration in the late 19th century.
