Summary
Rohatyn is a city in western Ukraine, situated on the Hnyla Lypa River. First documented in 1184 as part of the Kingdom of Galicia–Volhynia, it developed under Polish rule after receiving Magdeburg rights in 1415. The town is historically significant as the birthplace of Roxelana, who became a wife of Suleiman the Magnificent.
