Rokkasho

Rokkasho is a village located in Aomori Prefecture, Japan, on the eastern coast of the Shimokita Peninsula. Historically, the area was known for horse breeding during the Kamakura period. The village's economy has shifted from agriculture and fishing to energy development since the 1980s.
