Sabanalarga is a municipality within the Atlántico Department of Colombia, founded in 1620 by Lucas Dionisio Tesillo y Diego and Marceliano de Jesús Almanza. It's strategically located in the central part of the department, bordering several other municipalities. The town is known for being the birthplace of politician Juana de J. Sarmiento.
