Saint-Étienne

Saint-Étienne is a city in eastern-central France, located in the Massif Central, 60 km southwest of Lyon. Historically, it emerged as a parish in the Middle Ages, named after Saint Stephen and linked to the Abbey of Valbenoîte. The city developed arms manufacturing from the 16th century and became a key center for ribbon production.
