Summary
San Estanislao, also known as Santaní, is a city in the San Pedro department of Paraguay. Founded in 1749 by Jesuit priest Sebastián de Yegros, it was named after Saint Stanislaus Kostka. During the Paraguayan War in 1869, it briefly served as the national government's seat under Marshal Francisco Solano López.
