Santa Juana is a city and commune in Chile's Bio Bío Region, located south of the Biobío River. Founded as a fort in 1626 by Governor Luis Fernández de Córdoba, it was named after the wife of the Viceroy of Peru. The town experienced periods of destruction and restoration due to conflicts with the Mapuche.
