Santa Luzia, Minas Gerais

Santa Luzia is a municipality within the state of Minas Gerais, Brazil, part of the Belo Horizonte metropolitan area. Founded by gold explorers in 1692, it officially became a village in 1847 and adopted its current name in 1924. The Igreja Matriz de Santa Luzia, originally built around 1721, represents the city's early religious foundations.
