Summary

Santa Marta, officially the Historic, Cultural & Tourist District, is a port city on Colombia's Caribbean coast. Founded in 1525 by Rodrigo de Bastidas, it is among the oldest surviving cities in South America. Simón Bolívar spent his final days and died in Santa Marta in 1830.
