Satsumasendai

Satsumasendai is a city situated in Kagoshima Prefecture, Japan, with roots in the ancient Satsuma Province. It served as the provincial capital during the Nara period and was part of the Satsuma Domain during the Edo period. The city's modern form emerged through numerous mergers of villages and towns, culminating in 2004.
