Summary

Sendai is the capital of Miyagi Prefecture and the largest city in the Tōhoku region of Japan. Founded in 1600 by Date Masamune, it's known as the 'City of Trees' due to its zelkova-lined streets. The city suffered significant damage from the 2011 Tōhoku earthquake and tsunami.
