Summary
Soledar is a city in the Bakhmut Raion of the Donetsk Oblast in eastern Ukraine, historically renowned for its salt mining industry. Originally founded as a village by Don Cossacks, it was later renamed Karlo-Libknekhtovsk during the Soviet era. The city was heavily damaged during the Russian invasion.
