Skopje

Skopje is the capital and largest city of North Macedonia, situated along the Vardar River. It has been a significant settlement since the Roman era, serving as a capital under the Serbian Empire and later the Ottoman Empire. The city was largely rebuilt following a devastating earthquake in 1963.
