Summary
Slavutych is a purpose-built city in northern Ukraine established in 1986 to house personnel evacuated from the Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant. It is administratively subordinated to the Kyiv Oblast despite being geographically located within the Chernihiv Raion. The city is named after the Old Slavic term for the Dnieper River.
