Sniatyn is a historic city located in the Ivano-Frankivsk Oblast along the Prut River. First mentioned in 1158, it was granted Magdeburg rights in 1448 and later became part of the Habsburg monarchy. During World War II, it served as a temporary seat for the American embassy in Poland.
