Summary
Soledar is a city in the Bakhmut Raion of the Donetsk Oblast, historically significant for its extensive salt mining industry. Formerly known as Karlo-Libknekhtovsk, it was renamed in 1991 to reflect its industrial heritage. The city suffered severe destruction during the Russian invasion of Ukraine.
