Tomiya, Miyagi

Tomiya is a city situated in the central part of Miyagi Prefecture, Japan. Historically, it served as a post town on the Ōshū Kaidō highway during the Edo period under the Tokugawa shogunate. The area has been inhabited since the Jōmon period and was once ruled by the Northern Fujiwara.
