Summary

Újpetre is a village in Baranya County, southern Hungary. Until the end of World War II its inhabitants were Danube Swabians, locally called Stifolder, descended from Fulda migrants of the 1720s. The settlement originated from the 13th‑century Győr noble estate of ispán Konrád and later passed to Henrik’s son János before being returned by King Charles Robert to Konrád’s descendants.
