Urawa-ku, Saitama

Urawa-ku is a central ward of Saitama City, serving as the administrative heart of Saitama Prefecture. During the Edo period, it flourished as Urawa-shuku, a key post station on the Nakasendo highway connecting Edo and Kyoto. Today, it houses the prefectural government and major administrative offices.
