Vasvár is a town located in Vas County, Hungary, historically serving as the county seat. It was part of the Kingdom of Hungary between 1538 and 1867, situated in a region that remained outside Ottoman control. During WWII, Soviet forces captured the town in 1945 during the Nagykanizsa–Körmend Offensive.
