Velada is a municipality within the province of Toledo, in the Castile-La Mancha region of Spain. Its name originates from the Latin 'vigilare', meaning 'to stay awake', reflecting its historical role as a vigilant outpost. Originally known as Las Atalayuelas de Guadierva, it was repopulated in 1271 by knights and later granted township privileges around 1588.
