Summary
Velvary is a town in the Central Bohemian Region of the Czech Republic, northeast of Kladno. Historically, it was a significant stop on the route between Prague and Saxony, gaining market town status under Charles IV in 1357. The town suffered greatly during the Thirty Years' War, being looted and burned down in 1639.
