Velyki Birky is a rural settlement in Ternopil Raion, Ternopil Oblast, Ukraine, situated on the Hnizna river. First documented in 1410 under King Vladislav II Jogaila, it historically belonged to the Polish Crown. In 1530, Yan Srochytsky received rights to establish a town here under Magdeburg law.
