Vuhledar is a city in Donetsk Oblast, eastern Ukraine, and the center of Vuhledar urban hromada. Founded in 1964 around the Pivdennodonbaska 1 coal mine, it was initially named Pivdennyi Donetsk. The city experienced significant fighting during the 2022 Russian invasion, leading to widespread destruction.
