Summary

Warta is a town in Sieradz County, Łódź Voivodeship, central Poland, situated on the Warta River. It received town rights in 1255 from Duke Casimir I of Kuyavia and was a royal town of the Polish Crown. During WWII, the town experienced brutal German occupation and the murder of its Jewish population.
