Summary
Wauwil is a municipality located in the Willisau district of the canton of Lucerne, Switzerland. The prehistoric settlement of Wauwilermoos is a Swiss heritage site and part of a UNESCO World Heritage Site. During WWII, Wauwilermoos served as a prison camp for Allied soldiers and later became a penitentiary and deportation center.
