Summary
Wittenberge is a town situated on the middle Elbe river in Brandenburg, Germany. Established in 1300 by King Otto I, it developed due to its strategic location and river trade. During WWII, Wittenberge was heavily damaged and housed a subcamp of the Neuengamme concentration camp.
