Wolgast is a town in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, Germany, situated on the Peenestrom strait. Historically, it began as a Slavic stronghold called Hologost(a) and was a key location in 12th-century conflicts. The town was baptized by Otto of Bamberg in 1128 following Pomeranian conquest.
