Wolin is a town in northwestern Poland, situated on Wolin island by the Baltic Sea. Historically part of Western Pomerania, it served as an important trade center known as Jumne or Julin from the 9th century. The town played a key role in the Christianization of Pomerania, becoming the first see of the Pomeranian diocese in 1140.
