Worms is a city in Rhineland-Palatinate, Germany, located on the Upper Rhine. Historically, it served as the capital of the Burgundian Kingdom in the 5th century and was a significant imperial free city during the High Middle Ages. The Diet of Worms in 1521, where Martin Luther was declared a heretic, took place here.
