Yachiyo is a town situated in Ibaraki Prefecture, Japan, within the Kantō Plain. The Kinugawa River flows through the town, and it's approximately 60 kilometers from Tokyo. Established in 1955 through the merger of five villages, Yachiyo gained town status in 1972.
