Yamato, Kanagawa

Yamato is a city situated in Kanagawa Prefecture, Japan, approximately 40-50 km from Tokyo. Archaeological findings indicate habitation since the Paleolithic and Jōmon periods. It was part of the Shibuya shōen during the Kamakura period and later controlled by the Ashikaga and Hōjō clans.
