Yatsushiro

Yatsushiro is a city situated in Kumamoto Prefecture, Japan, historically significant as a trade center with Baekje and Song China. The city's name originates from an ancient mountain shrine linked to the sun goddess Amaterasu. Konishi Yukinaga constructed Mugishima Castle in 1588, which remained a secondary castle until its destruction.
