Zhmerynka

Zhmerynka is a city in Vinnytsia Oblast, central Ukraine, serving as the administrative center of Zhmerynka Raion. Originally two villages, it developed rapidly after the construction of a railway station in 1870. The city experienced a complex history during the 20th century, changing hands between Poland, Ukraine, and the Soviet Union.
